I wanted something slightly different for dinner and was not disappointed by the delicious Moroccan cuisine on offer.
The owner was friendly and welcoming and the decor. and food were both authentic.
We forgot about the 'Bring Your Own' alcohol policy so were ushered to co-op just down the road.
Excellent location, just outside the city centre.
I'm a big fan. -

Brilliant place walked past it for years and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service

This independent BYO restaurant is a local treasure. The owner is cheerful and the food is good. Seating is either at small tables or cushion style around a low table for groups. Quite a small menu means the food comes quickly and is consistent, but a couple of specials would go down well with me just to add a little variety. BYO helps to keep the cost of a meal down and there's an off license nearby. Corkage is £2 per bottle. Do phone for a reservation, it's quite popular

If you're keen to broaden your horizons on the dining front, head to Wells Road and try the Assilah Bistro. With its rustic wooded exterior, jewelled windows and plants lining the front yard, you'd be hard pushed to miss this Moroccan eatery. Run by a friendly Moroccan woman who prepares all the food, you can thus expect the height of authentic cuisine. If you're a sucker for such culinary delights as cous cous and roasted vegetables, you'll be in your element here. Meat dishes are also popular and all meals are reasonably priced. Moreover, the Bistro boasts a BYO policy on booze, which reduces the damage considerably. My only gripe with this place is that, due to its popularity and minimal staff, you'll sometimes find yourself waiting for a little longer than your growling stomach can handle...

Tasty food, beautiful decor, not open as often as I'd like it to be, cards not accepted.
